Well, fine, I'll say something! Florida's most talented independent filmmaker, Tim Ritter is back with a new B-epic, and this time he's not alone.

Ritter joins forces as director with John Bowker, and the legendary Joel D. Wynkoop to bring us a 3-part, Creepshow-esquire anthology straight out of Drive-in hell.

The long-awaited sequel to the one that started it all, Twisted Illusions 2. Havoc is distributed all around. Short and sweet.

A decent warm up for what's to come. Wynkoop directs, and stars as a "reformed" psychotic who is let out of the nut house Sunnyville only to audition for a role in a horror movie.

The role of a psychotic killer. Time to get into character. My personal favorite of the 3. Nearly an entire movie on it's own. Ritter casts the wife as a woman with a shady past, who is being stalked by a relentless maniac who will stop at nothing until he gets the tapes.

What the hell is that supposed to mean? Twisted Illusions 2 is the sequel to a movie I have yet to see. Twisted Illusions is seemingly nowhere to be found, but isn't necessary to grasp this one.

As far as this one goes, I'm downright impressed. Ain't nothing' like high-quality z-grade. Ritter and gang deliver every single time, budget be damned.

You never expect something that was shot-on-video to be put together this nicely, or to really hold your attention, but things always seem to turn out that way when Tim Ritter is involved.

Highly recommended, and I also highly recommend that Ritter make more movies, and while you're at it, invite Asbestos Felt.

Illusions also commonly called illus are imperfect, weaker copies of heroes, created by spells or items. They look like and are mostly treated like a hero, but are impaired, as they usually have incoming and outgoing damage penalties, dealing less damage and taking more damage than heroes.

They are mostly incapable of casting spells or using active item abilities and also have some passive abilities disabled.

They also may not drop or pick up items or runes. Illusions yield a little gold and experience based on the hero's level.

They do not soak up any AoE experience and gold they cannot level up, and the gold from last hits they make goes to their owners and do not interfere with kill streaks or counters.

Illusions can be created from an allied, enemy, or the own hero, copying its appearance, level, attributes, attack values, defensive values like base armor and base magic resistance and their abilities on their current level.

All items owned by the hero are copied as well, including all their stats although some effects of abilities and items are disabled for illusions.

This reduction stacks multiplicatively with the outgoing damage reduction which most illusions have, and also multiplicatively with the damage reduction hero damage does against structure armor type.

However, due to the fact that illusions are based on heroes, their damage scales together with the heroes, making them still a significant pushing tool, especially in later phases of a match.

All illusions are invulnerable for one server tick 0. It does not matter which ability spawns them, this goes for all of them.

Illusions also always play the same birth sound which is only audible to allies upon spawning, and the same death sound upon dying in any way, including upon expiring.

All illusions have an extra texture layer, which makes them distinguishable from the original hero. There are 6 different types of textures which can be seen below.

To allies, illusions always appear with the texture layer, making them always look different than the original hero. For enemies, illusions which use the blue or the yellow textures appear like the original hero, making it difficult to tell them apart from the real hero.

Illusions with the second or third texture appear like illusions to the enemy, meaning enemies do see their illusion textures.

However, despite this, the portrait of illusions always appears like the original hero to the enemy. Illusions do not show damage numbers.

Besides their skin and portrait, their health bar also differs based on whether the illusion is allied or not. Allied illusions have the same health bar as creeps.

This also means their mana bar is not visible, as it is only visible when having a hero or creep-hero health bar.

Besides this, illusions also have a circle on the left side of the health bar, which indicates their duration.

Enemy illusions use a hero health bar to not make it obvious that they are illusions. They also display the player's or hero's name above them like regular enemy heroes if the player has the name display toggled on player name or hero name.

The player name is based on the owner of the illusion, not of the hero the illusion is based on. This means when an enemy Shadow Demon creates illusions of allies, the illusions carry Shadow Demon's player name.

When hero names are chosen, instead of player names, it shows the name of the hero the illusion is based on, and not the owner's hero.

Strong Illusions behave the same as regular illusions but cannot be instantly killed by spells as listed below.

So far there are only two spells that can create Strong Illusions. All 3 attributes of illusions strength , agility and intelligence are based on the original hero.

They copy their base attributes, the attributes gained from levels, and all item bonuses. They fully benefit from every trait of attributes, health, health regen, mana, mana regen, armor, attack speed, and attack damage.

They also copy the hero's movement speed, main attack damage, attack animation and projectile speed , base attack time, attack range, bonus attack range, base magic resistance, main armor, base health and mana regen, vision, collision size and turn rate.

An illusion's stats, level, ability levels and items are all set upon spawn and do not adapt to the original hero.

Besides copying all the base stats of heroes, these bonus stats from items, talents or passive abilities are also copied:. These bonus stats are not copied and thus do not work for illusions although some of them are displayed in the HUD still :.

Magic resistance increasing effects do not affect illusions, except Fate's Edict , which fully works. Magic resistance reductions are inconsistent with illusions.

They either do, or do not affect them. However, in the HUD, magic resistance is always displayed as if they were fully affected.

Magical damage barriers fully work for illusions. Illusions have a gold and experience bounty equal to their level times 2. The gold bounty is granted to the player killing the illusion, while the experience is shared within the default experience area.

However, the experience is only granted when the illusion is killed by a player. Expiring illusions, or illusions dying to lane creeps, towers, fountains or neutral creeps do not grant any experience.

Usually when an illusion spawns, it does not copy the buffs and debuffs the original hero has. There are some exceptions with buffs though.

However, they do copy toggle statuses of items and of some abilities. Only the bonus night vision is applied. Also, since Warpath always applies a stack on all owned illusions by default, illusions casting spells get 2 stacks per cast.

When an enemy dies within aura range of an illusion, Underlord gets the damage bonus, if he owns the illusion, otherwise the illusion itself gets the damage.

Most illusions cannot use active abilities and items. The only exception are Talent-upgraded Vengeance illusions , which are allowed to cast Vengeful Spirit's abilities.

Almost all active abilities work normally for illusions, although there is currently no way for illusions to regularly use them. Only very few have a different effect when the caster is an illusion.

Most abilities treat illusions like regular heroes. However, some abilities have a different effect or interact in a different way with illusions.

A few abilities do not affect illusions at all. Finally, these abilities have different interactions with illusions. They either do not treat them as heroes, or apply different effects on them.

Feb 10, Harry added it. It must have been time. I haven't thought about Richard Bach in years. His work was so inspirational to my teenaged self.

I spent a summer's worth of road trips with my family, vaporizing clouds from the backseat. But I must have needed to hear from him again. I won a kindle at a charity function and as soon as I set it up, there was Richard Bach's new book waiting to be read.

As a high school teacher, I too feel much like a wolf on stilts I laughed when I read that, and now I'm using it. I fin It must have been time.

I find great wisdom here, but for those looking for more floating screwdrivers, or swimming through land, this is not that. I rate this book four stars for wisdom, nostalgia, bravery and reverence.

Thank you for the re-centering I was unaware that I needed. View 1 comment. I read most of Richard Bach's previous books when I was much younger.

Like many, I loved the original Illusions. However, I found this book, Illusions II, to be disjointed and at times, incoherent. It is a poor sequel.

Maybe out of respect to this previously inspiring writer it deserves another reading by me, because maybe, just maybe, I'm missing something.

But I don't think so. The book jumps from one out-of-body or dream sequence to another, then back to the reality of his hospital bed, often I read most of Richard Bach's previous books when I was much younger.

The book jumps from one out-of-body or dream sequence to another, then back to the reality of his hospital bed, often to his wife praying over him, then on to the meeting of his beloved long-dead dog who tells Bach he's never left him, to another dream sequence wherein his now destroyed airplane is fully personified and speaking to him; to his flying side by side with his former spiritual teacher, Donald Shimoda from Illusions.

Characters from his other books likewise appear to him, and speak about the reality of their existence in some timeless-space continuum, their existence which would not have existed had he not created them.

And so on and so on. Patch-working all these repetitive dreams sequences and actual events together becomes tedious and ultimately impossible.

I'm not sure what his ultimate message is, other than he recovered from a very serious plane crash, and lived to fly and write again. Of course, I am glad that he did survive.

No doubt his near-death experience was meaningful to him. But I wish he had written a memoir that dealt with that event in a tangible, coherent manner which then might have connected with this reader to allow her some insight into his experience.

As it stands now, I'm at a loss as to what the message of his story is really all about. Aug 08, Jerry Costa rated it it was amazing.

When I got the kindle I saw it was on here. I didn't know this book existed, I then I would give it a read. You see in I was in an accident, and in a coma for 9 days.

I removed in body. I always wondered why I lived. I was always wondering why I lived I suffered for 4years. After reading this I seem to have gotten my answer.

I highly recommend this book for anyone, but for someone that was in a coma, this book is a must read Mar 03, Joann Kuster rated it liked it.

Richard had a love for flying and flew for years without incident. Then he crashed. During his coma and recovery he would talk to characters that I believe were from his past writings..

I never read the other books so I can only guess. He spoke to his plane as well, Puff, and they agreed that they would both be whole again and fly the skies.

His will to live and return to his love of flying was the main story line. The Illusions of his characters encouraging him to live. Not what I expected for the follow up but a joy to read regardless.

Bach is always inspirational. Feb 13, MaryM rated it did not like it. No no no Mr Bach It is awful and boring and lacks heart or emotion.

Jun 03, Taughfeek rated it it was amazing. This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here.

Illusions 2 by Richard Bach. The book was recommended to me by my dad who had already read the first one several times, saying that the book gave a lot of lessons and spoke of the truth.

Him telling me to read this book and then go back and read the first to get the full view. So far I can see what he means. The main protagonist Richard is suffering from a coma which he goes back and forth from the real world in a hospital bed on life support to a world of his own in his mind.

In his world he sp Illusions 2 by Richard Bach. In his world he speaks with a mentor that that doesn't so much as teach but guides him in a general path of belief that puts Richard in a situation to take past knowledge and experinces to compare and contrast to find similar soluations.

But In all the main thing that the mentor is really trying to instill in him is that he must have a very strong will and believe in himself. So when going back to the real world the doctors dont believe that he will live.

But what Richard believes that the power of the love from his wife will drive him, and that the he is the perfect expression of love. Richard kept feeding himself that despite the doctors continuing to doubt he will live, or if he does never walk again.

But as soon as Richard is set free within the coming weeks feeding himself peace and positivity he was able to go from walking 6 steps in pain to running miles with his dogs.

On top of that he has been able to get his plane repaired in the coming months and also get his lisence renewed.

Richard just continues and refueses to quit. This is more that just persistance is key, it's more so about the mind and self will combined are the most powerful combination that can accomplish anything and everything together.

There are alot of other messages that just require to focus more which will lead me to go back and most likely read the book multiple times again.

I defenitly recomend it to any and all willing to see another perspective on life in general and honsetly a wonderful adventure.

His son took away his Facebook account; Google searches brought up no information about his condition. I should have liked Illusions II due to being advanced age and close to death, yet it did not grab me.

Reading Illusions was a life-altering book. Johnathon Livingston Seagull was quite inspiring. I did not expect more from Illusions II because I read the Goodreads reviews before purchasing it as a gift for my oldest daughter.

Many moons ago when she was in college in the days before mobile phones, during a phone call she asked if I knew Richard Bach had a new book published.

I lied and said no, secretly laughing. I had bought that book for her for Christmas, read, then wrapped it. She bought me the same book, confessing on Christmas morning that she read it before she wrapped for me.

I confessed my little white lie. Sep 10, R. Tomlinson rated it really liked it. The illusion of life Some say this book is not as good as the original.

It some ways that is true. However, what I find is that it is written from a different perspective.

Illusions was written 40 years ago when Bach was in the prime of his life. Illusions 2 is written from the perspective of a person who has experienced a horrific crash as he is approaching the end of his life.

I enjoyed both perspectives. Oct 06, Sherry Briscoe rated it liked it. A few good gemstones in it, but mostly his wandering thoughts during his rehab from a plane crash.

I liked Illusions much better. Apr 18, Heather rated it it was ok. I was pretty disappointed in this book. And the writing was very choppy and hard to follow.

May 20, Damion Travelle rated it really liked it. It was good, it's better if you're familiar with the author's entire catalog.

Oct 21, Zach rated it it was ok. Hmmm, this book describes how Richard got through his near-death experience. For that alone I am grateful.

But I found it rather boring. May 15, Niranjan Navalgund rated it it was amazing. Every book of his contains a jewel. This one too - hints about after life and the power of choices : Loved it.

Jun 22, JV Austen rated it did not like it. Should have listened to the other reviews and skipped this sequel. I will still hold the original Illusions near and dear to my heart!

Jan 02, Jonathan rated it liked it. Just finished this tonight and I must admit to not being that impressed with it. Comparatively, the book covers a lot of the same ground as its predecessor, however, it doesn't go as deep as that book does, nor is there as much humor in the absence of depth.

Overall, it seems a book written for the writer himself, more than any reader who might ever carve through the pages. I say this partially because the writing itself is choppy in a lot of places; there was no real love put into the work itse Just finished this tonight and I must admit to not being that impressed with it.

I say this partially because the writing itself is choppy in a lot of places; there was no real love put into the work itself, rather, it was written as a mantra around the repetition of one, singular phrase, through 13 chapters, over and over again.

Each character in the short book, comes across as only a glance. Like a flickering of light that dies as soon as you glimpse it. Bach's own struggle throughout, like a soft joke where the punchline never quite hits.

Overall, I'm unsure this book needed to be published. Written for the authors sake? Perhaps, but not published. It seems a huge disservice to the original.

If I hadn't taken the time to read it, I'd probably take my own suggestion: "Don't waste time, and keep your concept of the original. Nov 28, Erin rated it it was ok.

The very moment I realized there existed a sequel to Illusions, I downloaded it without question. Illusions changed my life the first time I read it close to 15 years ago, and I still cite it as one of my favorite books.

I also had a copy of The Messiah's Handbook that I carried around with me on my own travels. But this book The only reason I gifted it 2 stars rather than one is because I was so happy to see Donald Shimoda, and it seemed like he ha The very moment I realized there existed a sequel to Illusions, I downloaded it without question.

The only reason I gifted it 2 stars rather than one is because I was so happy to see Donald Shimoda, and it seemed like he hadn't changed a whole lot from the first book perhaps a little more cynical 35 years later??

Illusions II is poorly written Poor sentence structure, poor comma placement, and often times at least for the kindle version poor editing in general.

In addition, it is repetitive, and so spiritual it almost seems religious, which totally turned me off. If you loved Illusions as much as I did I'll file this one under an hour or two I won't get back.

What a bummer. Oct 04, Joseph R. Coble rated it did not like it. From the reviews I read of Illusions II before I purchased it, it was obvious that opinions tend to be at the extremes.

Illusions is right at the top of my all-time favorite books, first read many years ago, and reread a number of times since then.

With Illusions II, though, I lost interest very quickly. In trying to figure out why, I think that as a Christian and spiritual person, while I thought a few of Bach's ideas in Illusions were a little "out there," I thought the majority of it was very reasonable, and in fact some very good advice.
